ALL ABOUT ME
Dear Parents,
I am so excited to welcome you and your child to My kindergarten class here at Alston Ridge Elementary School. My name is Mrs. Marsh. My husband and I moved to beautiful North Carolina 6 years ago. Prior to my move, I lived and taught elementary school in New Jersey for 12 years and pre-school for 5 years before that. I am in my 6th year teaching Kindergarten here at Alston Ridge and I couldn't be happier. Having had the pleasure of teaching students from pre-school through 3rd grade, I understand the developmental learning progression of early childhood. I strive to make certain that I have an individualistic understanding of each student because each is unique in his or her own learning style and rate of development.
I thoroughly enjoy helping children discover more about their world. I am especially fond of math and science. During several summer vacation breaks, I taught science and environmental studies at a regional science museum in New Jersey. This enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of our environment and see, first hand, the innate desire children possess about discovering their natural world.
In my leisure time, I enjoy exploring my new home state, bicycling, visiting museums and nature centers, gardening and raising butterflies. I have 3 grown children of my own, 2 step children and a delightful and spirited granddaughter.
I am thrilled to be part of the Alston Ridge Elementary School family. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns you may have about your child. My email is [email protected] or call the school and leave me a message at 919-544-2474.
I strongly believe that your child’s academic growth and development is a joint collaboration between teacher and parent. I am looking forward to being an important part of your child’s life during this year. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Marsh
